You Don't have to be perfect....Kids flying kites on hand coloured background square card

You Don't have to be perfect....Kids flying kites on hand coloured background square card

Hi Craft addicts!

I had such fun creating the background for this card using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons - the rest of the card was made using Tattered Lace Dies and a Stamp by Me stamp.....

How I made this card:-
  • I used a pre cut panel of white stamping card (6" x 6" from either Hunkydory or Rare Earth) for the base layer and began colouring the sky in using most of the blue Tim Holtz Distress Crayons - blending them in with my finger as I went - I also found that spritzing my finger with water helped smooth the edges out. I also spritzed more water on to the card and blotted it with some kitchen roll to give the impression of clouds.
  • I then used various green crayons to create the grass, using the darker colours to add some dimension again spritzing it with water to blend it in.
  • I then used the Black Soot crayon towards the centre of the panel to add some landscape and also a blue/grey one in parts to create the cloud effect.
  • Whilst that dried,I cut out the children flying their kites and the dog in black card and stuck them to the panel.
  • I also stamped the grasses in the left hand corner using Altenew's Jet Black ink (using part of the stamp as I didn't want the whole design).
  •  I edged it with a black alcohol marker and then used PVA glue to stick both together.
  • I used the You don't have to be... beautiful stamp from the Grass set to added the sentiment (again using the Jet Black Ink).
Products used in this project
  • 6" white square card with matching envelope

Birthday lovelinesss..lighthouse in front of sunset...A6 white linen effect card

Birthday lovelinesss..lighthouse in front of sunset...
A6 white linen effect card

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is another I have made using stamps, Distress Crayons and dies... it is quick and easy to make too!

How I made this card:-
  • The base card I used is a white linen effect A6 card - I think these came from Craft Creations but any will do of course (I like the effect you get if stamping directly on to it).
  • I first of all took a small piece of white card and stamped the Lighthouse (from Pretty Quick) on to it using Black Gina K Amalgam ink, I then coloured it in using red and cream alcohol inks from the Prism range from Hunkydory.
  • Once I was happy with it, I cut around it as close as possible to the edge and then coloured that with a black alcohol ink,
  • I then used a pre cut Oval panel in white card with the matching silver Mirri layer and coloured it in with stripes of Orange, Yellow and Pink Tim Holtz Distress Crayons (blending them in with my finger as I went and then smoothing the lines out with a paintbrush and water.
  • I edged the main panel with a black alcohol marker and stuck it to the silver layer with PVA glue. I also trimmed it to give it a wavy edge.
  • I stamped the moon and birds from the same Pretty Quick set on to the background using Jet Black ink from Altenew.
  • I then stuck the panel on to the front of the A6 card towards the top left hand corner using PVA glue.
  • Again using PVA glue, I then attached the Lighthouse to it, making sure there was room for the sentiment which is also in the same set.
  • I had stamped that on to white stamping card with the Jet Black ink, trimmed it so it had a wavy banner shape, edged it with a bright blue alcohol marker and placed it at the bottom of the card using foam pads.
  • I also used the tree image from the set and stamped it just above the sentiment and when it was dry, coloured some of the white space with a green watercolour pencil.
  • Finally, I used some Tonic Studios Nuvo drops (alternating black and limoncello) on the top right hand corner to balance it out.
Products used in this project
  • A6 white linen effect card with envelope from Craft Creations or any other supplier
  • Pretty Quick stamp set
  • White stamping card
  • Pre cut white Oval panel with mat Silver layer from Hunkydory
  • Blue, red, cream alcohol markers from the Prism range by Hunkydory
  • Pink, Yellow, Orange and red Tim Holtz Distress Crayons
  • Green watercolour or colouring pencil - from Chameleon or Prism
  • Gina K Black Amalgam ink
  • Jet Black Altenew mini ink cube
  • Black and Limoncello Jewel Drops from Tonic Studios Nuvo range
  • Foam pads
  • PVA Glue such as Glue-it Glue from Pinflair or Cosmic Shimmer

Just Because... dogs in silhouette on hand painted background A6 card...

Just Because... dogs in silhouette on hand painted background
A6 card...

Hi Craft addicts!

I hope you all had a great weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead! I had fun painting the background and then deciding what to use it for - these dog silhouettes were just the right thing!

How I made this card:-
  • The base card I used is a white linen effect A6 card - I think these came from Craft Creations but any will do of course.
  • I first of all die-cut the dogs (from the Fun, Frolics and Flight Tattered Lace Collection) out in black card. I chose these two as they look as if they are coming from different directions. The card is Lynda Chapman's black card from Creative Crafting World.
  • I then took a small piece of white card (I used stamping card but watercolour card would do just as well) and created the sea scene using Kuretake's Gansai Tambi Pearl Colors and Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Shimmering watercolour paints. I love these paints as the paper shimmers when you move it but it is tricky to show in the photo!
  • When it was dry, I used the middle sized Pin Dot Label Trio die and cut a background layer out.
  • I then used the larger one to cut out the backing layer in a dark blue paper/card (from Create & Craft's Core Collection - Blueberry Mix).
  • I stuck them together using a PVA glue and then that on to the front of an A6 white linen effect card towards the top.
  • I again used a PVA glue to stick the two dogs on to the card making them look as if they were playing with a ball and then added a drop of Black Crystal drops from the Nuvo range by Tonic Studios and let that dry.
  • Whilst that was drying, I stamped the Just Because sentiment (from Birch Press Designs) on to some white stamping card using Altenew Jet Black ink and cut around it in a wavy line.
  • I then edged it with some green ink and placed that on to the bottom of the card using foam pads as it gives it dimension.
Products used in this project
  • A6 white linen effect card with envelope from Craft Creations or any other supplier
  • Dogs dies from Fun, Flight and Frolics set from Tattered Lace
  • Pin Dot Label Trio die set again from Tattered Lace
  • Just Because stamp sentiment set from Birch Press Designs
  • White stamping card
  • Black card (Lynda Chapman's World of Paper from Creative Crafting World)
  • Blue card from the Blueberry Mix Core Collection from Create & Craft
  • Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor paints
  • Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Shimmering Watercolour paints
  • Gina K Black Amalgam ink
  • Jet Black Altenew mini ink cube
  • Black Jewel Drops from Tonic Studios Nuvo range
  • Foam pads
  • PVA Glue such as Glue-it Glue from Pinflair or Cosmic Shimmer

Hogs and Kisses... cute pig with parcel on trellis background 7x5in card

Hogs and Kisses... cute pig with parcel on trellis background
7x5in card

Hi Craft addicts!

Am so glad it isn't as hot today as yesterday, have actually got to make a card which I think is quite cute but stylish too!

How I made this card:-
  • The base card I used is an Ivory/cream (7" x 5") which I got from the Core Collection from Create & Craft.
  • I first of all die-cut the larger of the two Moroccan Trellis frames (from Tattered Lace) in black card (Lynda Chapman's World of Paper) and stuck it with PVA glue to the Ivory Linen effect card from Create & Craft... You could use Sticky Roll or self adhesive backed card to do this too so you wouldn't get any glue seeping out.
  • Using Gina K's Black Amalgam ink, I stamped out the Piggy stamp (from Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps Hogs and Kisses collection) onto white stamping card and coloured it in using Prism  Watercolour pencils (any other brand will do the job too).
  • I fussy cut around it leaving a very narrow border (I really must start using my Brother Scan n Cut to do this!)
  • I then took the Hogs and Kisses sentiment from the same collection and stamped it out on white stamping card using Altenew's Jet Black mini ink cube.
  • I fussy cut around it so it had a wavy edge and used pink ink (what was left on one of my daubers).
  • I used a PVA Glue to attach the trellis background  to the front of the cream card, making sure that the central part was stuck down properly too.
  • I then added the pig and sentiment to opposite corners of the centre bit using foam pads.
  • Finally I added Black Nuvo drops (from Tonic Studios) to each of the spaces in the trellis to give it a bit more dimension.
Products used for this card:-
  • 7" x 5" Cream/Ivory card from Create & Craft's Core Collection (Smooth)
  • Moroccan Trellis Die set from Tattered Lace
  • Hogs and Kisses For The Love of Stamps set by Hunkydory
  • White stamping card
  • Black card (Lynda Chapman's World of Paper from Creative Crafting World)
  • Cream/Ivory Linen effect card again from Create & Craft's Core Collection
  • Watercolour pencils from Hunkydory's Prism range.
  • Gina K Black Amalgam ink
  • Jet Black Altenew mini ink cube
  • Black Jewel Drops from Tonic Studios Nuvo range
  • Foam pads
  • PVA Glue such as Glue-it Glue from Pinflair or Cosmic Shimmer

Just Because....Floral B on vellum on hand inked background A6 card

Just  Because....Floral B on vellum on hand inked background
A6 card

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is one I have made using stamps, matching dies, some vellum and a hand inked background that I created myself.

How I made this card:-
  • This is a lovely, bright and cheerful floral A6 white card that is very simple to make....
  • I used the Stamps By Me Just Because stamp and matching die set and cut out the middle sized B several times in white card and then stamped the floral B on to some white stamping card, placed the die over it, taped it down and cut it out.
  • I coloured the flowers etc out Prism watercolour pencils and blended them in.
  • Using PVA glue, I then attached all of the cut out bits together so that it had some height and then added the actual coloured one on top of them.
  • I used my anti static bag and rubbed it over a strip of vellum (measures 2.5" deep and about 6" long as it needed to fold over the background to attach it).
  • I eyeballed where I wanted the sentiment to go and stamped the Just ecause on to the vellum with Versamark and covered it with True White embossing powder and heat set it.
  • I created the background with a mix of Jacquard and Tim Holtz Ranger Alcohol inks which I added on to some White Yupo paper (again from Ranger) and left it to dry (which doesn't take long at all).
  • I trimmed the panel so that there was a narrow border when I placed it in the centre of the card.
  • I then attached the vellum on to the background, turned it over and stuck the ends down with tape.
  • Using Glue-it glue from Pinflair, I stuck the whole thing down on to the front of the side fold A6 card..
  • Finally, I added some foam pads to the back of the floral B letter and placed it to the left of the sentiment.
  • I also added a Limoncello Nuvo drop at the bottom of the B and left it to dry.
Products used for this card:-
  • A6 White side fold card from Paper Boutique (Creative Crafting World)
  • Stamps By Me Just Because stamp and matching die set from Stamps by Me
  • Alcohol inks from Jaquard and Tim Holtz Ranger range
  • Yupo paper

Happy Birthday abstract flowers large DL easel card..

Happy Birthday abstract flowers large DL easel card.

Hi Craft addicts!

Haven't posted in a couple of days - have you missed me :) - anyway as it is #TessellatingTuesday - here is a card I have made using a Stamps by Me die and some stamps...

How I made this card:-
  • This is a lovely, bright and cheerful floral DL card (with an extension) which is a side fold card from Paper Boutique.
  • I used the Stamps By Me Synergy - Lattice 5 Die and cut it out using a sheet of Black self adhesive paper.
  • I didn't want the solid part of the die-cut so I snipped it off
  • I then removed part of the backing sheet, and gradually adhered it to some white stamping card, burnishing it down as I went.
  • I coloured the flowers in with Pink, Dark Pink, Yellow and Orange Prism (from Hunkydory) alcohol markers.
  • Using PVA glue, I then attached it to the front of the side-fold DL card, making sure that I only added glue to the bottom half of the hexagon shape as I wanted it to be free standing.
  • I then took the Happy Birthday sentiment stamp from a collection by Creative Expressions and stamped it out on to some white stamping card using an Altenew Jet Black mini cube (I used this ink as it wouldn't be coloured or anything).
  • I trimmed around it and edged it with a Black alcohol marker and attached it to some bright Yellow Linen effect Core Collection card from Create & Craft and trimmed that so there was just a narrow border around it.
  • I added the whole sentiment panel on to the Hexagon shape with foam pads.
  • Finally, I used some Black Nuvo Drops from Tonic Studios to the centre of the flowers (I just noticed that one has been left off so added it after I took the photo).
Products used for this card:-
  • DL White side fold card from Paper Boutique (you will need a large envelope)
  • Stamps By Me Synergy Lattice 5 die
  • Happy Birthday sentiment stamp from Creative Expressions
  • White stamping card
  • Yellow cardstock from the Core Collection from Create & Craft
  • Black self adhesive paper from Creativity International
  • Black alcohol marker
  • Yellow, Orange, Pink and Dark Pink alcohol markers from Prism (Hunkydory)
  • Jet Black Altenew mini ink cube
  • Black Jewel Drops from Tonic Studios Nuvo range

Happy Birthday... abstract circles DL Orange card

Happy Birthday... abstract circles DL Orange card

Hi Craft addicts!

Well it is nearly the weekend so thought I would make this bright and cheerful Birthday card...

How I made this card:-
  • This is a lovely and bright Orange DL card which I have used landscape format.
  • I used the Stamps By Me Synergy - Lattice 4 Die and cut it out using a sheet of Black self adhesive paper.
  • I didn't want the panel inside the die-cut for this card, so snipped it off ( I will use it in another project).
  • I then removed part of the backing sheet, and gradually adhered it to both sides of the DL card, burnishing it down as I went.
  • I then took the Happy Birthday sentiment stamp from the Big Birthday Words collection from Woodware and stamped it out on to some white stamping card using an Altenew Jet Black mini cube (I used this ink as it wouldn't be coloured or anything).
  • I trimmed around it and edged it with a Black alcohol marker and attached it to the centre of the card with foam pads.
  • Finally, I used some Limoncello Nuvo Drops from Tonic Studios to add some detail to inside the bubbles - this dries clear so they look like more bubbles!
  • Finally again! I would add an insert (plain or with a sentiment) to finish the card off...
Products used for this card:-
  • DL Orange Core Collection card with white envelope from Create & Craft
  • Stamps By Me Synergy Lattice 4 die
  • Happy Birthday sentiment from the Big Birthday Words stamp set from Woodware

Happy Birthday hot air balloons on acetate A6 cream card

Happy Birthday hot air balloons on acetate A6 cream card

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is definitely a work in progress insomuch that it definitely needs improving.. but if  you want to see how I worked on it so far then read below!

How I made this card:-
  • This is an A6 cream pearlescent card with a matching envelope but needed a plain background so cut a piece of white stamping card slightly smaller than the card itself.
  • I used the Stamps By Me Watercolour paints wheel and painted a sky scene using the blue palette. I heat dried it but also left it to dry for a bit.
  • I then took a piece of the Hot Air Balloons acetate that Hunkydory produced some time ago and trimmed it to fit the white panel. This acetate is double sided (gold on one side and silver on the other) and decided to use the latter for this card.
  • I then used a couple of alcohol markers to colour the reverse side of the acetate and when it was totally dry, used my score board to score it at the top to make a small flap.
  • Using red liner tape, I then attached that to the sky scene (using the tape on the inside of the flap so it stuck to the back of the panel).
  • I then stuck the whole thing to the front of the card using PVA glue.
  • Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps has a pack called Floral Expressions and I used the Happy main stamp and the small Birthday one to create the sentiment.. I used Black Gina K Amalgam ink to stamp it onto some white stamping card as it can take all sorts of pens/paints etc.
  • I then coloured in the Happy part of it with one of Stamps by Me Gossip Glitter pens (Yellow) and attached the panel to the front of the card with foam pads.
Products used for this card:-
  • A6 cream pearlescent card with matching envelope
  • Floral Expressions stamp set from For the Love of Stamps by Hunkydory
  • Hot Air Balloon acetate sheet from Hunkydory
  • White stamping card
  • Blue palette from Stamps by Me Watercolour wheel
  • Alcohol markers - any colours will do
  • Yellow Glitter Gossip pen from Stamps by Me
  • Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue or Pinflair Glue it glue
  • Collall All Purpose glue
  • Red Liner tape
  • Foam pads

Cheers! Cocktails and more cocktails 7x5in white card

Cheers! Cocktails and more cocktails 7x5in white card

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is a fun, bright and cheerful one which was easy to make.. hope you like it!

How I made this card:-
  • This is a 7" x 5" white card and I used it as a landscape top fold card.
  • I used the Cocktail Stamps from a Rare Earth collection and stamped the two designs directly on to the front of the card using Black Gina K Amalgam ink.
  • I then coloured them in using Hunkydory's Prism Watercolour pencils.
  • Once that was done, I then cut a strip (approx 1") of blue paper (from Create & Craft's Core Collection) and placed in the middle of the card, sticking it down with PVA glue.
  • I also cut out the Ornate frame panel (Spellbinder's) in white card, and whilst the card was still in the die, coloured it with a pale blue dye/distress ink.
  • Once I was happy with the blending, I removed the card from the die and stamped the Cheers! sentiment from the same set as the Cocktails on to it using the Gina K ink.
  • I used PVA glue to attach it to some matching blue card and trimmed around it so there is a very narrow border left.
  • I then attached the whole thing on to the centre of the card with foam pads.
Products used for this card:-
  • 7" x 5" white card with envelope
  • Pop, Fizz and Clink stamp set from Rare Earth
  • Drink and Be Merry stamp set from Rare Earth
  • Ornate frame die from Spellbinders
  • White stamping card
  • Blue card/paper from the Core Collection from Create & Craft
  • Blue dye based or distress inks
  • Prism Watercolour pencils from Hunkydory
  • Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue or Pinflair Glue it glue
