Joy to the World - Mother and Child card - Day 334 of my 365 day challenge

Joy to the World - Mother and Child card -
Day 334 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is a Christmas card but could also be used for a new baby which I have made using Tattered Lace dies, Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints and Maribu Flip Flop paints!

How I made this card:-

  • I cut out the Mother and Child Tattered Lace die out in white stamping card.
  • I then painted another sheet of card using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints - blues and blacks mainly.
  • I used one of Tattered Lace's Rectangle Torn Edge dies to cut a panel out and then dusted it with an anti static bag.
  • Using Versamagic ink, I stamped some flowers all over it and added Clear Embossing powder to heat set it.
  • Once it had cooled down, I used a flat paint brush to add some of Maribu's Flip Flop paint and covered it - it is really hard to see in the photo but it changes colour from pink to blue depending on the light.
  • It dries very quickly and so I used a PVA glue to attach the die cut to the centre of it and added the whole panel to the front of a 7" x 5" white card.
  • I stamped the Joy to the World sentiment (from Tonic Studios) just underneath the panel with Tuxedo Black Memento ink .
  • Finally, I used Rare Earth's Cornflower blue ink cube to stamp the snowflake border (from Apple Blossom's Season's Greetings banner stamp set) on either side of it.

And there you are -  A card that is fun and as said before would be great for Christmas or a Winter Birthday!!

Smile... Frog with Christmas hat and ball square card - Day 333 of my 365 day challenge

Smile... Frog with Christmas hat and ball square card -
Day 333 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's latest handmade card for day 333 of my challenge is a fun Frog themed winter card which could be for Christmas or a Winter Birthday!

How I made this card:-

  • I then used the frog with a ball stamp from Personal Impressions' Christmas Frog Smiles set and stamped it on to a prepared circle of white stamping card (Hunkydory) using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
  • I then coloured it in using red, pink and blue alcohol markers for the hat and ball, along with a light green for the frog itself!
  • Once I was happy with the effect, I stamped the SMILE sentiment underneath the frog using Toffee Versafine ink.
  • I then used a couple of snowflakes from Dawn Bibby's Magical Christmas Scene stamp set, and stamped them all over the card using Rare Earth's ink pads (red and blue and a darker blue).
  • Once that was done, I then cut out a larger circle in the silver holographic card and attached the main topper in the centre of it using PVA glue.
  • I then repeated the snowflake pattern on the front of a 6" whtie pearlescent card again using the same ink colours and then cut a strip of the blue tartan paper from Craftstyle and stuck it in the middle of the card using a tape pen.
  • Finally, I used foam pads and attached the main topper in the middle of it.

And there you are -  A card that is fun and as said before would be great for Christmas or a Winter Birthday!!

Cute Snowmen on 2 handstamped 4in cards for day 332 of my 365 day challenge

Cute Snowmen on 2 handstamped 4in cards -
Day 332 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

I had great fun making these cards using stamps and alcohol markers - they are small cards so could be used as tags too!

How I made these cards:-

Card One (left)
  • I have had the oval mats and layers from Hunkydory for ages and thought I need to use them up so used a medium sized one for the card on the left.
  • I stamped the skating snowman out on to the white INK me oval card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, trying to make sure it was in the middle.
  • I coloured it in using Orange, Red and a cool Grey alcohol markers (any will do but I used Prism markers from Hunkydory).
  • I then attached it to the Gold layer using a tape pen, again trying to make sure it was centred.
  • I also added some blue and green dye based inks to create a background.
  • I have painted the background using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints (blue shades painted horizontally) and then cut it out using a Tattered Lace square die (not sure which one) once it was dry.
  • I then added the topper on to the background and stuck it to the front of a 4" white linen effect card.
Card Two (right)

  • For the second card, I used the Best Friends stamp (from Sweet Dixie) and stamped it out on to some white stamping card again using Memento's Tuxedo Black ink and again coloured it in using Greens, Purples, Blues, Reds and Greys alcohol markers - this time using a mix of Spectrum Noir, Altenew, Prism and Nuvo.
  • I then cut it out leaving a narrow white border around it.
  • I also cut out a Torn Edge Rectangle in white card using a Tattered Lace die and coloured the background using the Blues and Greens dye based inks.
  • I then attached it to the front of a 4" white linen effect card using PVA glue and placed the Snowman on to the bottom half of the card using foam pads.
  • For the sentiment, I placed the stamp (from the Penguin Fun set by Lisa Horton for Creative Expressions) on to a mount, curving it slightly and stamped it directly on to the top of the card using the Memento ink.

And there you are -  TWO quick, easy and fun cards that would be great to receive!

Santa A6 card and Christmas Post Box narrow DL Card -
Day 329 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

As I didn't post a blog yesterday, I thought I would show how I made these 2 different Christmas cards.....

How I made these cards:-

Santa with mini Santa....
  • I cut out the Santa Claus die (from Tonic Studios) a few times in black and white card and stuck the black parts on to the white.
  • I then coloured the hat and coat with red alcohol markers and then the gloves in green. I also added some grey to the beard and fur on his coat. I also coloured his face in a flesh alcohol marker and black/grey for his boots.
  • I used a snowflake stencil to create the background, colouring it in using a blue distress ink. I then cut it out using a Tattered Lace torn edge rectangle die.
  • I stuck the Santa on the panel using PVA glue and edged it with a blue marker.
  • I then glued the whole thing on to a white A6 card and stamped the Season's Greetings sentiment underneath the panel with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.
  • Finally, I added the small Santa embellishment to the top left hand corner using PVA glue.

Christmas Post box....

  • This card has been made using the Christmas Postbox die (again from Tonic Studios), cut out in black card and then added to a panel hand painted by myself using PVA glue. I trimmed it and then added it to a slightly larger Silver Mirri card panel.
  • I then glued that to the front of a narrow DL card again using PVA glue.

Hi Craft addicts!

I had great fun making this card which my project for day 326 of my challenge. I used stamps, alcohol markers to colour the cat in...

How I made this card:-

  • I first of all stamped out the cat image (Christmas Cats Whiskers from Personal Impressions) onto pre-cut oval stamping card (from Hunkydory) using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, trying to get it into the centre of the panel.
  • I used TN4 and CB10 Spectrum Noir alcohol markers for the cat itself and then red, pink and blue markers for its' hat, scarf and the present's ribbon.
  • Once I was happy with the colouring (or as happy as I will ever be), I then used blue and green distress inks to colour the background (like previous cards, I am still using what was left on a couple of sponge daubers)...and added it to a larger mat of Gold Mirri card (the next size up from Hunkydory's set)
  • I then cut a strip of purple and pink tartan card (from a pre cut set from Kanban) and stuck it to a slightly wider strip of Purple Mirri card (from Hunkydory).
  • I stuck it to the centre of an A6 white Centura Pearl card using PVA glue.
  • Before adding the main topper, I stamped one of the sentiments (Season's Greetings to the Cat's Whiskers) on to the card using Tuxedo Black Memento ink in the centre of the card. I then used foam pads to add the topper towards the top of it.

And there you are - a Christmas card what would be great for all ages!
