Two for the weekend - C6 cards Flowers and Flamingos....

Two for the weekend - C6 cards Flowers and Flamingos..

Hi Craft addicts!

Today, I have written about 2 C6 cards (one normal and one gatefold) that I have made using a Hunkydory Topper, some Altenew inks and some floral stamps.

The first one is... Flamingo fun (white C6 card)

 Flamingo fun (white C6 card)

  • I first of all used some "leaf" stamps (I am not sure where they are from which is a shame) and coloured the front of a C6 white straight edged card using "Olive", "Parrot" and Bamboo Altenew ink pads to create a background. I left the centre empty as I knew I would be putting a topper there.
  • I then added some "black" leaves (using their "Jet Black" ink pad and then some small "flowers" with their "Ruby Red" ink.
  • Taking one of the smaller "Flamingo" toppers from Hunkydory's "Bigger Book of Birthday toppers", I separated them and stuck the frame to the card and then added the oval topper to it raising it with foam pads.
  • I finally added some "Apple Green" Nuvo drops to the centre of the flowers....
The second card I have made is "Especially for you" Marigold C6 gatefold card.

  • I used the same stamps as the first card, this time using the lighter "Green" (Parrot) ink pad from Altenew and stamped around the edges of the C6 cream gatefold card.
  • I then added some of the flowers using their "Autumn Blaze" (orange) inks in the spaces left- I also stamped over the opening edges and coloured the remaining ones with the same ink.
  • I took a panel of "Orange" Tear and Share cardstock from Kanban and attached the floral panel which is a Tattered Lace one (I had cut it out in "White" card) - trimming it down so that it fitted the panel. I had also coloured the edges of both with the "Orange" ink.
  • I then glued it to the left hand opening panel (making sure there was no glue on the right hand side so the card could open.
  • I really love this flower, and so used some CS PVA glue to stick it to the centre of the panel.
  • I also used an "Especially for You" sentiment (with red foil) from the Foiled Sentiments pack from Craftwork Cards.
And there you are - simple but stylish cards that have been made using just some floral stamps, a variety of Altenew crisp dye ink pads and a topper from Hunkydory + a flower embellishment.

Dandelion heads stamped and coloured square card

Dandelion heads stamped and coloured square card

Hi Craft addicts!

So, for today's post, I have made this striking but simple card using Hunkydory's "In my Thoughts" from the For the Love of Stamps collection, some black card and coloured using distress inks.

Dandelion heads stamped and coloured square card

How I made this card:-

  • I first of all took 4 pre-cut deckle edged panels (67mm square) and stamped the largest of the "Dandelion" heads (from the "In My Thoughts" set of stamps from Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps collection using the "Smokey Grey" Versafine ink pad in the centre of each of them.
  •  I then coloured 2 panels using Altenew's "Red" shades Crispy Ink pads leaving the centre lighter than the outer edges.
  • I repeated this using DoCrafts Blue inks on the remaining 2 panels.
  • Once they were all dry, I cut out a larger panel in black card (Lynda Chapman's from Creative Crafting World) that was slightly bigger and glued the 4 of them on to it in a symmetrical pattern - leaving a narrow border around them all.
  • I then stuck the whole panel on to a 7" white card in the middle of it.

And there you are - a simple but stylish card that has been made using just some some pre cut panels, some stamps from Hunkydory. some Versafine ink and ink pads. It also has room for a sentiment in the middle of the card.

Every Adventure requires a first step DL landscape card

Every Adventure requires a first step DL landscape card

Hi Craft addicts!

Haven't posted for a few days but am making up for it today with this card that I made yesterday. Really like this new style of DL card that have been brought out by Creative Crafting World recently in their Paper Boutique range.

Every Adventure requires a first step DL landscape card

How I made this card:-

  • I first of all cut a panel of white super smooth card and stamped out the "Every Adventure requires a first step" sentiment which is part of the new Rare Earth collection. I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink to do this.
  • I then coloured the panel with the "orange" colours in the "Warm and Cozy" ink collection from Altenew leaving the centre of it white. I also edged it in black using an alcohol marker.
  • I attached the panel to a slightly larger one in "Yellow" Adorable Scorable (from Hunkydory).
  • The flowers, birds and branch were stamped and coloured using stamps from the "A Hint of a Hoot A6 stamp set from Creative Crafting World. I also coloured them in "Orange and Brown" alcohol markers to give it a watercolour effect.
  • I then cut out a larger panel of the "Orange/Yellow/Brown" tartan from an A4 sheet of paper (from Craftstyle) which measured about 20x8cm and glued it to the front of the card.
  • I used some clear foam tape on the back of the topper and attached it to the centre of the card.
  • Finally, I added some "Black and gold" wavy border strip peel off stickers to edge the tartan panel.

And there you are - a simple but stylish card that has been made using just some some patterned paper, some stamps (from Creative Crafting World and Rare Earth, some inks and alcohol markers.

All that Jazz - wall hanging with blackboard card to write on..

All that Jazz - wall hanging with blackboard card to write on..

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's make is a small wall hanging with the theme of "All that jazz" as I have used the stamps in that set from "For The Love of Stamps" from Hunkydory along with some blackboard card so that it can be written on....

All that Jazz - wall hanging with blackboard card to write on..

How I made this wall hanging:-

  • I took some "Red and white" dotty paper (from Kanban) and stuck it to both sides of a MDF wall hanging/plaque which measures 16x8.5cm approx using CS glue having precut them beforehand.
  • I then used some "Red, Pink and Blue" inks (from Altenew and DoCrafts) and added the "splats" using the "All that Jazz"mask from the latest collection from "For the Love of Stamps" mask and stamps set from Hunkydory.
  • I then edged both front and back of the plaque with the "Red" inks  - I used a Ranger mini blending tool (these are great as you get several spare foam pads which you can use for different colours!)
  • Using a rectangle die (this is a Sue Wilson/Creative Expressions one), I cut out the panel out of "Blackboard Chalk card" - you can buy this from DoCrafts and glued it on to the middle of the plaque with CS Glue again.
  • I stamped the 3 figures out (using "blue" and "black" inks on parts of the stamps to give a different effect) on white super smooth card and cut them out leaving a narrow border around them. (I used Onyx Black Memento ink)
  • Once again using CS glue, I attached them to the plaque.
  • I stamped some of the "Musical notes" from the same set above and below the chalboard panel and finally added some white "faux stitching" around it.
  • I used some black twine to hang it up with (I knotted the ends at the back of the plaque and added some CS glue to the knots to secure them.

And there you are - a simple but stylish card that has been made using just some some dies, some stamps from Hunkydory and coloured with alcohol markers.

Party Animal Flamingo - Hand coloured 6in flower card

Party Animal Flamingo - Hand coloured 6in flower card

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is one that has pleased me a lot making it - I have used a hand stamped topper along with some brightly coloured paper and 6in flower shaped card.

Party Animal Flamingo - Hand coloured 6in flower card

How I made this card:-

  • I first of all took one of the "Leaves" from the "Flamingo Party" For the Love of Stamps collection and stamped it on each of the petals using "Onyx black" Memento ink pad - making sure that they were all facing the right way.
  • I then cut out the two panels (one in "Red & White dots" and the other in "Yellow" cardstock using a "Tattered Lace Torn Edged circle" and the other in a "straight edged circle).
  • Using the "Hearts" DoCrafts (Xcut) embossing folder, I embossed the yellow circle to give it some dimension.
  • I then stamped the surface using one of the flower stamps and then coloured them in using "Red" and "Orange" alcohol markers.
  • I stuck both of the background panels together with CS PVA glue and then on to the flower card.
  • I also stamped a "Picot edged" circle with a smaller "Flamingo" and coloured it using some "Pink" alcohol markers and added the "Party Animal" sentiment just above it.
  • Finally, I added some shadow to under the bird and some faux stitching to the border of it using a Fineliner pen.

And there you are - a simple but stylish card that has been made using just some some dies, some stamps from Hunkydory and coloured with alcohol markers.

Bees and hearts - no message on this 7in white card

Bees and hearts - no message on this 7in white card

Good afternoon Craft Addicts!

I really love making this card as it is so bright and cheerful and simple to make! Could be used for Valentine's Day by adding a "Bee Mine" sentiment or just to say hello!

Bees and hearts - no message on this 7in white card

How I made this card:-

  • I first of all took a piece of "Bright Yellow" card which measured 145x140mm and cut out a panel using the Tattered Lace "Torn Edges Rectangles" towards the left hand side of it as I wanted to add the outlines of the "Bees" to it too.
  • I then cut out the "Beehive" die (a Tattered Lace one) in the panel making sure that it fitted of course!
  • I placed both panels on to some black card and glued them using CS PVA glue. I then stuck the larger one to the top left hand side of a 7" white straight edged card and then added the one with the beehive to it leaving a gap at the top so that a message or sentiment could be added to it.
  • I used some "Black and Gold" wavy edged peel off border stickers to edge the large panel.
  • I then cut out two "Bees" (again from Tattered Lace) in black card, gluing one of them straight on to the topper using CS glue and then added some yellowy orange card to the back of the 2nd one and attached that to just below the outline bees.
  • Finally, I had the 2 little "hearts" from having cut out the "Love" sentiment from Tonic Studios and glued them to the top left hand corner.

And there you are - a simple but stylish card that has been made using just some some dies along with 3 coloured cardstock.

Every day is an adventure - Seascape hand stamped 7x5in card

Every day is an adventure - Seascape hand stamped 7x5in card

Hi Craft Addicts!

Today's card is a hand stamped and coloured seascape made using some Tattered Lace dies and Hunkydory "For the Love of Stamps" stamps, along with some dye based inks.. Read how I made it here....

Lighthouse and ships stamped image on linen effect cardstock - oval panel
  • I had coloured the topper (which was cut out using a Tattered Lace die using a white Linen cardstock which gives it a more subtle effect) ages ago using "Pinks, Greens and Blues" Distress and dye based inks, and was wondering how I could use it and after getting the "Ahoy Matey" stamps from Hunkydory, I  thought I could use some of the stamps to make it into a proper scene.
  • I first of all, added the "Lighthouse" to the foreground using "Onyx Black" Memento ink and then added the small "Ship" a few times to the background (using the stamp a couple of times to give an effect of distance).
  • I also added the "Waves" to it and used a pencil to merge them them together. I used the same pencil to add some shadow to the lighthouse.
  • I then coloured the "Lighthouse" using "Red and Yellow" alcohol markers
Every day is an adventure - Seascape hand stamped 7x5in card
  • Once I was happy with it, I stuck it onto a panel of "blue" cardstock and cut round it, following the shape as much as I could.
  • I also cut out the largest of the "fancy shaped" oval background using the Tattered Lace die and coloured the edge of it using the "Blue" Docrafts ink pad and then added the "Anchors" from the same Stamp collection around the edge of it again in the blue colour.
  • I also added the "Every Day is an Adventure" stamp to the main card and added the whole panel in the centre of it.

And there you are - a simple but stylish card that has been made using some stamps and dies along with some linen effect cardstock.
