Couple in park - hand coloured and stamped card - Day 285 of my 366 day challenge

Couple in park - hand coloured and stamped card -
Day 285 of my 366 day challenge

HI Craft addicts!

I have made up my own story for this card - will have to write it down some time! Anyway, this time I have used a hand stamped and coloured design on Tattered Lace background panel on a Hunkydory card.

Couple in park - hand coloured and stamped card

To make the card:-

  • To make the topper itself, I took a piece of "white" linen effect cardstock (this is from Craft Creations) and cut it out using one of the "Pin Dots" circle dies from Tattered Lace - this one measures 8.5cm approximately.
  • Keeping it in the die (I used some low tack tape at the back), I coloured the sky first of all using "Blue" Generation INX inks masking off the lower part of the circle with some card.
  • Once I was happy with the colouring, I reversed the mask and coloured the grass area a couple of times using "Green" inks (again from Generation INX) leaving part of it lighter nearer to the horizon.
  • I then removed it from the die to finish the rest of the stamping.
  • Taking the larger of the trees from the "Vintage Christmas" stamp collection from Card-io and stamped the first one near to the bottom left hand side and repeated it slighter higher up nearer to the horizon.
  • I also stamped one of the "dogs" so it looked as if it was peeping out from the tree and the "bicycle" near the other one so it looked as if it was propped up.
  • I added the "couple on a bench" stamp to the bottom of the topper. I really like the way the images are slightly fuzzy as it gives a more interesting effect.
  • I then matt and layered it on to a black circle cut out in black card from the next size up dies.
  • Finally, adding the whole thing to the card using foam pads. The card itself just cries out for something like this as it has the central panel already.

And there you are - a card using some dye based inks, a Tattered Lace die and a fancy edged card. Don't forget you can visit The Handmade Crafts Shop anytime to see what else I have for sale or sign up to my monthly newsletter here

day 284 of my 366 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

So today's challenge is a very simple but fun card using a narrow striplet die, some markers and some Nuvo drops.

How to make this card:-

  • I took the "Floral Meadows" die from the Sue Wilson Striplet collection and cut it out in some black cardstock (Lynda Chapman's) and backed it on to some white stamping card.
  • I then used some "Green" Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to colour in the leaves and then added some "Green" Stardust Glitter effect Gel pens from Sakura to a few of them.
  • I used Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue to attach it to a narrow DL white card (which I got from Craft Creations).
  • I also used some "Dandelion Yellow", "Caribbean Ocean", "Green" and "Red" Nuvo Crystal drops in the flowers' centres.
  • Finally, I used some "Diamond" and "Triangle" peel off stickers in the corners and top and bottom
  • For the inside of the card, I stamped the "Birthday Wishes" sentiment from one of the Dreamees stamp collection

Celebrate! Fairy on fancy background small card - Day 283 of my 366 day challenge

Celebrate! Fairy on fancy background small card -
Day 283 of my 366 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Fairies once again feature in this card for today's challenge - this time using a Spellbnders die on top of a Tattered Lace one. I think this would make a lovely theme for a boxed set of cards that would make a great gift.

Celebrate! Fairy on fancy background small card

How to make this card:-
  • I must admit this is a very simple card to make..so I first of all decided that i would use an 88x114mm card - this one is a pre-cut/scored card out of Centura Pearl which I got from Craft Creations - but you could easily make your own card if you wanted to.
  • I cut out the "Fairy" in black shiny paper using the "Cali"Shapeabilities die from Spellbinders.
  • I then cut out the oval panel out of white cardstock using the Tattered Lace "Pearl Pin dot Oval" die (the middle size one)
  • I used some Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue and attached it to the centre of the card and then placed some glue on just the body of the "Fairy" and added it to the middle of the panel. (The wings can still move if you wanted to)
  • I also stamped the flower twice to give it a double petal effect and added some "Caribbean Ocean" Nuvo crystal drops to the centre.
  • Finally, I added some "Morning Dew" drops (they will dry clear) to opposite corners.
  • For the inside, I stamped "Celebrate" and one of the "flowers" using the Marion Emberson Design stamps.

And there you are a card using dies, and some Nuvo drops!. Don't forget you can visit The Handmade Crafts Shop anytime to see what else I have for sale or sign up to my monthly newsletter here

Products and items you may need to make this card

  • 88x114mm blue straight edged card and envelope from Craft Creations
  • Cali Fairy die from Spellbinders
  • Tattered Lace Pearl Pin dot Oval die
  • Black shiny paper
  • White cardstock
  • Marion Emberson stamps - sentiments

Reach for the Stars (Fairy) C5 card - Day 282 of my 366 day challenge

Reach for the Stars (Fairy) C5 card -
Day 282 of my 366 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's challenge has been mainly using Tonic Studios products (along with a C5 cream scalloped edged card from Create and Craft.

Reach for the Stars (Fairy) C5 card

To make the card including the topper:-

  • I first of all cut out the main "Reach for the Stars" die in black cardstock (Lynda Chapman's from Creative Crafting World) and then again in "Teal" card and then  "fussy cut" around it so that some of the tendrils were repeated in both colours.
  • The "Reach for the Stars" sentiment was cut out in both colours and I then reversed them and slightly offset them when gluing them so there was a slight shadow.
  • I also took the "floral" paper from the 8" paper pad "Mid-Summer Morning" again from Tonic Studios and trimmed it to approximately 8x17cm and matt and layered it on to some black card.
  • Using a taper pen, I then added that layer to the left hand side of a C5 cream scalloped edge card.
  • I then added the main topper on it using thin black foam pads to give it some height.
  • Finally,  added some "Morning Dew" Nuvo drops to the stars and tendrils and some "Pale Gold" to each of the corners.

And there you are a card using a Tonic Studios die, some Tonic Studios paper and Nuvo drops!. Don't forget you can visit The Handmade Crafts Shop anytime to see what else I have for sale or sign up to my monthly newsletter here

Home Sweet Home - black and white C5 card -
Day 281 of my 366 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

A bit late today as I am trying to sort out my Dropbox account and so far not succeeding! - Anyway, this is a C5 black and white (with a hint of colour) "New Home" card.

Home Sweet Home - black and white C5 card

To make the card:-
  • I first of all cut out the "Home Sweet Home" die (from Tonic Studios) in white cardstock. It is a long die so you do need one of the larger die-cutting machines.
  • I then attached it to some black cardstock and "fussy cut" around it allowing some of the more ornate parts to hang away from it.
  • I then coloured the roof using a "Tan" Spectrum Noir alcohol marker and a "Light Green" one for the grass.
  • I wanted the card to have an interesting feature so I cut the right hand edge away using one of the "Pearl Borders" die from Tattered lace (about an inch).
  • I then coloured through the scallops and some of the edge using some "green" and "pink" Generation INX inks.
  • I also added 2 rows of the "Wavy edged" black Peel off stickers to add a bit of detail to the edge of the scallop.
  • I then took a sheet of the black and white paper (from Craftwork Card's "Noir de luxe" 8" square pad and cut it so it measured 95x200mm and glued it to the centre of the card leaving an equal space on both sides.
  • Finally, I added the main panel on to the card using foam pads.

Thank you card - elephant theme with Lattice background - Day 269 of my 366 day challenge

Thank you card  elephant theme with Lattice background -
Day 269 of my 366 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's challenge uses a small baby "elephant" that I cut out using my Brother ScannCut along with a "Lattice" background and a hand stamped sentiment...

Thank you card - elephant theme with Lattice background

To make the toppers:-
  • I used my Brother ScanNCut's web app CANVAS and took the elephant from the Stamp collection and resized it and printed it out in black card.
  • i also cut out one of the "Wavy" line border strips from the standard templates after I had resized it.
  • I then cut out the "lattice/Moroccan style" panel die (I think it is is Sue Wilson's from Creative Expressions in black card.
  • I also cut out the "fern" style leaves dies in a pale green cardstock.
  • I also used one of the "waste" elements from a previous project that I had cut out in the "metallic green" mirri card.
To make the card up:-
  • I glued the panel on to the front of an C6 white card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue and added some wavy "black" peel off stickers at the top and bottom.
  • I then added the black border strip to the middle of the card trimming it to fit.
  • I also used Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue to add the two "Folage" pieces slightly curving them to add a bit of interest.
  • I glued the elephant to the Mirri card (missing out the ear so it could "flap") and placed it on the border strip using some foam pads.
  • I had the "Thank you" sentiment (not sure which set it is from) and stamped it onto some white stamping card using some "Black Onyx" Memento ink. I also edged it using a bright blue (TB4) Spectrum Noir alcohol marker and then matt and layered it on some black card.
  • Finally I added it to the card again using some foam pads and placed some "Buttermilk" Nuvo crystal drops.

And there you are a card using a die-cuit, Brother ScanNCut and a sentiment stamp . Don't forget you can visit The Handmade Crafts Shop anytime to see what else I have for sale or sign up to my monthly newsletter here
